Raccoon Adoption Program

Raccoon Ranch works to place raccoons into safe, knowledgeable, and responsible homes. Raccoons are intelligent, curious animals that require time, commitment, and proper care. Please read the information below before applying.

Adoption Requirements

You must be 18 years or older.
You must follow all state and local wildlife laws.
Some states require permits to own a raccoon.
You must provide proper housing and enrichment.
Raccoons can live 15–20 years in captivity.
We reserve the right to deny adoption if a home is not suitable.

Do you live in a house or apartment? Do you own or rent? If renting, do you have permission from your landlord to own a raccoon? Do you live alone or with others? If others live with you, are they on board with having a raccoon? Do you have any children living with you? Do you work outside the home? If so how many hours a week?

Experience

Do you have any experience with raccoons? If so please describe. Do you own or have read any books about raccoons? If so which ones?

Care Plan

How do you plan on housing your raccoon? Please describe. What do you plan on feeding your raccoon? Do you have other pets? If so what? Do you have a veterinarian lined up? If so please give their name and location. Will you be able to get and keep proper permits for your raccoon in your state? Will you spay or neuter your raccoon?

Adoption Preferences

Are you wanting to adopt a baby raccoon or an adult? Do you prefer a male or female raccoon? Do you have a preferred color?
